Finishing the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship season in eighth position in the world championship standings, Leon Camier was able to turn a lot of heads after a strong season onboard the 1000 F4 machine. Starting the season with very little on track action following bike issues which hindered his track time in the pivotal Friday practise sessions, the British rider was able to bounce back from the problems and shine through on the bike.

Heading out for race one in Australia after missing the first free practise sessions of the weekend, Camier was able to secure a top five finish in the opening race of the season, accompanied by a top eight in race two. A string of top 11 finishes followed, before he was able to break into the top six around the legendary TT Circuit Assen and the team’s home circuit of Imola. A double top six in front of his home fans at Donington Park was a welcomed result for the Brit ahead of tough weekends in Italy and America – where he once again suffered with the reliability of the MV Agusta.

The second half of the season bought some stunning results for the 31 year old, as he was narrowly off the podium on more than one occasion. Finishing in the top five around Lausitzring, a top four finish came in Portugal, but the final two races on board the Italian bike were tough for the Brit. Scoring points in every race he finished, he was only outside of the top ten on three occasions and impressed many in the paddock with the MV Agusta.
